At least 59 MBBS students who returned from Bangladesh were put under surveillence at the world famous tourist spot Pahalgam.
The students studying medical science in Bangladesh had reached Srinagar airport yesterday.
After being screened by the officials of health department, all the students were straightway taken to Pahalgam for quarantine. The students were provided accomodation in buildings and huts belonging to different government departments.
Assistant commissioner Revenue, Anantnag, Syed Yasir said that 50 students had come by air and were directly taken to Pahalgam after the necessary screening at airport.
“Nine of them had travelled by road from Jammu and they too were taken to Pahalgam after being screened,” ACR said.
Though, none of the students, the officer said, was symptomatic but even then all of them were put under observation.
“All of them turned out to be normal during the screening. None of them have any symptoms but we did not want to take any chances and decided to put them under observation at Pahalgam,” ACR said.
He said that the students have all the facilities available there.
The officer, also shared the pictures of buildings and huts where the students have been put under observation.
