The Hizb-ul-Mujahideen operational chief Riyaz Naikoo has said the militant outfit won’t target Amarnath yatris during the annual Hindu pilgrimage, which begins on June 28.
In an audio clip circulated on social media, Naikoo said the militants won’t target Amarnath yatris.
Rejecting reports of outfit planning attack on yatris, he said, “We have no plan to attack the pilgrims. We won’t attack them. They come here to perform religious rituals. They are our guests. We have nothing to do with them”.
Naikoo said the militants have never attacked Amarnath yatra. “Our fight is not against the yatra. We are not at war with yatris. We are at war with those, who are suppressing the people of Kashmir”.
The Hizb commander said their fight was against those, who oppress Kashmiris and who have forced the youth to pick up gun.
“We are fighting for our rights and our freedom,” he added.
