Banihal observes shutdown Chenab Valley to remain shut today

To express solidarity with the people of Kashmir, a shutdown call was given for Tuesday in the districts of Doda and Kishtwar. The area of Banihal observed complete bandh in protest against civilian killings by forces in Kashmir.

The bandh call in Doda has been given by the Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhaderwah to protest the killing of civilians. They asked that market should shut and and transport must remain off the road against the killings in Bhaderwah and in Doda district.

“We have given a call for complete shutdown tomorrow, as brutality of police and paramilitary forces is increasing with each passing day and innocent and unarmed Kashmiri people are being killed and wounded at an alarming pace. We stand for the cause of Kashmir and Kashmiri people,” said Anjuman-e-Islamia, president, Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
The Anjuman also alleged that district administration in general and Bhaderwah police in particular “are dancing to the tunes of RSS and are hell bent to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in Bhaderwah Valley.”
Meanwhile, Seerat Committee Kishtwar has also given a shut down call for tomorrow in whole Chenab Valley including Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban.
Talking to Rising Kashmir, Imam Jama Masjid (Kishtwar) Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo said that they have given call against the killing of innocent people. “We will hold complete shutdown,” Kitchloo added.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was today observed in Banihal and some areas of Ramban against the civilian killings in Kashmir.
As per the reports, Banihal, Khari, Tethar and Chareel in Ramban district observed complete shutdown to mourn the death of innocent people in security forces firing.
