To de-escalate border tension, Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistani Rangers Monday held a flag meeting on the International Border to ensure peace and tranquillity along the borders.
The meeting was held at Octroi Border out Post in RS Pura. The Pak Rangers delegation was headed by Sector Commander Sialkot while BSF Sector Commander Jammu led the BSF delegation.
Sources said both sides held talks in a cordial atmosphere and agreed to ensure peace at any cost on the border for the safety of the civilian population.
The flag meeting also decided the two sides would again meet on June 21 to enhance better coordination between the border guards of two countries.
A BSF official said the meeting is likely to bring firing-free environment, particularly for border villagers on both sides.
“Both Sector Commanders have agreed to keep talks on at every level to develop confidence between two border guarding forces,” he said.
