Bullet-ridden body of army man found in Shopian 3rd off-duty security personnel killed in Valley this year

A 23-year-old army man was found dead in Wotmula village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
A police official said body of Territorial Army man Irfan Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Senzen,Keegam village of Shopian was recovered from an orchard in Wotmulla village of Shopian this morning.
He said the locals had found the body and informed police instantly.

“Irfan’s body bore three gunshot wounds fired possibly by the militants. His car was parked nearby while the keys were in his pocket. There were no marks of resistance visible on the body,” the police official said.
Irfan was on week-long leave from his posting in Gurez and was supposed to join back tomorrow.
He was posted with 175 Territorial Army (Engineers).

“Irfanhad gone missing last evening and his bullet ridden body was recovered this morning,” the police official said.
He said police have taken up investigations.
Defensespokesman, Rajesh Kalia said Dar was posted in a Territorial Army unit in Bandipora district.
“He was on leave till November 26,” he said.

Kalia said matter was being investigated by the Police.
Dar is the third off duty Kashmiri security men to be killed by suspected militants in Valley this year.
In May, army officer Lt Umar Fayaz was killed after being abducted by suspected militants from a marriage party in Shopian district.
In September, a BSF man Mohammad RamzanParray was killed and four of his family members injured in the gun and knife attack of suspected militants at his residence in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
