Geelani expresses gratitude to Qazi Husain, Pak for ‘supporting’ Kashmiris

Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani Saturday expressed “gratitude for people of Pakistan, their government as well as army for their political, moral and unflinching support to people of J&K”, who he said are carrying on with the struggle to achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.

Geelani in his statement while paying tributes to ex-Jamaat-e-Islami Chief, late Qazi Husain Ahmad “for his supreme services for Kashmir cause”, said: “He was instrumental in celebrating this day in 1990 in solidarity with people of Kashmir and their movement.”

He in his statement “felicitated Pakistan establishment and influenced people of Pakistan for playing their active role in Kashmir movement”.
Geelani said: “People in Jammu and Kashmir are challenging a big power and Pakistan is the only country that acknowledges our right to self-determination and extends its persistent support.

We are highly thankful to Pakistan for their categorical support. However we hope Pakistan will play more effective and active role in this regard. Pakistan should activate all its embassies and we hope Pakistan establishment would assign them the task to highlight Kashmir issue and human rights violations.”
Geelani in his statement said Kashmir is internationally accepted issue and “Pakistan establishment should exhibit persistence and endurance and desist from it’s apologetically approach”.

“Pakistan is prime party to the issue & no lasting solution is possible without its active involvement. There is no need to show flexibility instead they need to exhibit their persistence and steadfastness,” said Syed Ali Geelani.
Hurriyat (G) chairman in his statement while hailing the services of late Qazi Husain Ahmad, said even though all political and religious parties hold seminars, conferences and demonstrations to highlight different dimensions of the Kashmir but credit goes to late Qazi Ahmad for the initiative.

“Late Qazi Hussain Ahmad was affiliated with Kashmir movement and he had yearning to see Kashmir movement reaching a success,” said Syed Ali Geelani.

He said late Qazi Hussain Ahmad was very active and always, mentioned the issue in his speeches. His services to Kashmir movement will be written in golden letters, said Syed Ali Geelani.
Syed Ali Geelani in his statement, urged people of Pakistan “to organize demonstrations in favor of people of Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination and highlight dispute and the gross human rights violations being perpetrated by forces in Kashmir”.
