Geelani pays tributes to slain militants ‘Youth putting huge responsibility on people’

Paying rich tributes to slain militants Yawar Bashir and Abu Mavia killed in Qazigund encounter, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani Tuesdaysaid the youth lay down their lives “to end the age-old slavery of their nation and were putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end”.

A Hurriyat (G) statement said: “Syed Ali Geelani in his telephonic address to mourners reiterated that joint resistance leadership will hold a public program (Jalsa) on December 15, 2017, at Lal Chowk Anantnag, and people should attend in large number as participation of people will symbolize their attachment with Kashmir movement and leadership.”
“Referring to those slain youth who had expressed their will that Geelani should offer their funeral prayers” statement quoting Geelani said: “I myself feel it an obligation and a blessing to pray for them, however I am not in a position to attend, as I have been under house arrest since past seven years’ and authorities are even barring me from performing religious obligations.’

While extending condolences with bereaved families, statement quoting Geelani said: “Our youth are sacrificing their present for the betterment of our tomorrow.”
“They are writing a history with blood, which puts a huge responsibility on us to safeguard these sacrifices and people will never compromise with the mission,” statement quoting Geelani said, adding that paying tributes to Yawar Bashir, Geelani said that “he since past 20 years served the sacred cause and laid down his life to nourish movement with his sacred blood”.
Blaming pro-Indian parties for present appalling situations, statement quoting Geelani said they are responsible for this forced rule.
Statement said Geelani urged people to stay away from these parties and never bargain with them for petty interests.

“They are opportunists, and people should boycott upcoming elections. We don’t nourish any animosity against India or its people and nor we want to take any part of it, however India has forcibly taken our state,” statement quoting Geelani said, adding: “Kashmir is not integral part of India and Indian authorities should avoid parroting about this. We time and again repeat that Indian leadership has made commitment with international community and with us.”

Statement added Syed Ali Geelani said it was India, which took the case to the UN so that people of J&K would be given the right to self-determination.
“The resolution was accepted by both India and Pakistan and the world community is witness to it,” statement quoting Geelani said, adding: “I assure my nation that one day we will emerge as free nation.”
Statement added that s Syed Ali Geelani during his address asked people “to follow the three principals laid by Tehreek-e-Hurriyat as guideline for obtaining right to self determination”.
