Grenade attack in Pulwama SPO with fled with rifle joined our outfit: Hizb

Suspected militants Wednesday evening hurled a grenade toward Police Station Pulwama which exploded with a bang.
Locals said after the explosion, they heard many gun shots which created panic in the area.
Senior Superintendent of Police for Pulwama, Mohamad Aslam Chaudhry said that a bang like sound was heard near police station Pulwama after which guards on duty fired few shots in air.
“No loss of life was reported in the incident,” he said.

Meanwhile, four Overground Workers (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit were arrested from Sopore, Police said Wednesday.

Acting on a specific information, police and CRPF laid a joint cordon at fruit mandi crossing in Sopore on Tuesday evening and arrested four OGWs of proscribed terror outfit JeM, a police spokesman said.
He said the arrested persons had been identified as Mohammad Ayoub Malla, Fayaz Ahmad War, Javid Ahmad War and Maqsood Ahmad War.

“Two UBGL, two grenades and matrix sheets of JeM outfit were recovered,” he said, adding the accused persons were booked under relevant sections of the law.

Meanwhile, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Wednesday said an SPO who fled with a rifle had joined their outfit.
In a tele-statement issued to KNS, the Hizb operational spokesman Burhan-u-Din said, “SPO Irfan Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nehama Kakapora of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district who fled with a rifle has joined Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.”
The spokesman also quoted Field Operational Commander Mohammad Bin Qasim as saying, “We appeal all Jammu and Kashmir Police cadres to give up their job and join Hizb-ul-Mujahideen to give a push to the resistance struggle.”
