Hurriyat Conference (M) condemns arrest of Asiya, others

Hurriyat Conference (M) strongly condemned the arrest and detention of many Hurriyat leaders and slapping Public Safety Act on them.

Hurriyat Conference (M) in its statement alsocondemned shifting them to outside jails terming it as “political vendetta and the sheer frustration on part of the ruling regime”.

Hurriyat (M) said that arresting Dukhtaran-e-Milat chief AsiyaAndrabi and lodging her in a police station and slapping PSAs on Sirajudin Mir and Abdur Rashid Mughloo and shifting them to Kotbalwal is a highly undemocratic act and deserves all forms of condemnation.

Hurriyat(M) said that slapping PSAs on pro-Kashmir leaders and activists have always been a tool of the rulers “to try and force the people and leadership into submission”.
Hurriyat Conference (M) said on a regular basis the Hurriyat leadership is caged either in jails or in their own homes.

“Theyare subjected to ultimate forms of repression that include slapping PSAs on them and lodging activists into various police stations for days together.”
Terming these tactics as an attempt to break the resolve of leadership and people of Kashmir, the Hurriyat(M) said that such moves have been tested in the past and “have failed to make the people of Kashmir surrender before the Delhi’s military might and the State government’s policies of coercion and repression”.
