Unidentified gunmen shot dead Hurriyat Conference (G) leader Mohammad
Yousuf Rather (Nadeem) in Charangam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday .
Police sources said unknown gunmen fired towards Rather at Charangam area in the evening when he was travelling in a Tavera vehicle.

Rather, a resident of Sanzipora Budgam, sustained critical bullet injuries was shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
He was also working in Power Development Department, family sources said.
“He was shot in the head in a moving vehicle. We have started investigation,” SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh told Rising Kashmir.

Hurriyat sources said Nadeem was travelling in a Tavera vehicle, which was stopped by two unidentified gunmen near Charangam.
As the vehicle stopped, he was shot in head,” they said.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar said Nadeem was general secretary of Tehreek Wahdat-i-Islami, which is constituent of Hurriyat Conference (G).
“He was an important member of our amalgam,” he said.
