I was never in touch with Indian PM: Geelani

Srinagar, Dec 9:
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Saturday denied the claim of journalist Ved Partap Vedic that separatist leaders used to talk to India Prime Minister on phone from his house.

Reacting to the report, Geelani said, “No such communication has ever taken place.”

“Such imaginary speculations are nothing but to malign the leadership and confuse the masses. It is ridiculous on part of this so-called journalist that he leveled these baseless allegations just to please his masters. We don’t believe in covert activities. We are fighting for a just cause and whatever we do we do in broad daylight,” he said.

Speaking at a seminar organized by Centre for Peace and Progress, here, Vedic who in the past courted controversy by meeting Jamaat-u-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, Friday said “Hurriyat leaders used to visit my house and from my phone used to talk to Prime Minister. Ask Prof Gani Bhat and Geelani”.

He did not mention the name of the Prime Minister but his revelation stunned the participants.
