IB officer found dead in Srinagar, CRPF trooper hit by bullet dies in Jammu

Srinagar: An intelligence officer found dead under mysterious circumstances in Shivpora area of Srinagar city on Thursday.

Official sources told news agency GNS that DSP of Intelligence Bureau(IB) Vinod Ram Joshi died mysteriously in his residential quarter at Shivpora area.

A police officer while confirming the incident told GNS that the officer was posted in Srinagar and early today morning the officer was found in unconscious state.

Joshi, a resident of Lucknow, was rushed to military hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” the official said adding that “further probes are on”.

“The body has been sent to Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar for postmortem”, the officer said, adding that the cause of death will be ascertained once postmortem report will come.

Initially, a case under 174 CrPc has been registered in this regard, the officer added.

CRPF trooper dies after hit by a bullet at officers Mess

M S Nazki reports that a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper today died after hit by a mysterious bullet inside the camp in Jammu.

A police official told GNS that the trooper Shiv Kumar (34) of 76 Battalion posted at Officers Mess at Channi Himmat this morning received serious bullet wound after a rifle went off.

The officer said that the matter is being investigated and a case under section 174 CrPC has been registered and investigations has been launched to ascertain cause of the incident. (GNS
