Rising Kashmir News
Rejecting Home Minister, Rajnath Singh’s statement that Kashmir is an integral part of India, Hurriyat Conference (M) said J&K is an internationally-accepted dispute and Government of India (GoI) should give up its rigid stand.
“JK is internationally-accepted dispute since 1947, the proof of which lies in United Nations’ resolutions, promises made by the first Indian PM Jawaharlal Nehru to Kashmiris, umpteen Indo-Pak accords and dialogue processes and Kashmiris struggle since the last 70 years,” a Hurriyat (M) spokesman said.
Stressing that GoI should give up its rigid stance, which is devoid of facts and ground realities, he said India should show seriousness in peaceful and long-lasting solution to the vexed Kashmir issue. “India should initiate steps for its resolution, which would not only help in restoring peace in Kashmir but also create an environment for development and prosperity in entire South Asia.”
Commenting on Rajnath’s reference of “jamhooriyat, Insaniyat and Kashmiriyat” in his press conference in Srinagar, the spokesman asked him whether it was insaniyat (Humanity) under which 74 civilians including them children and teenagers were killed over 200 blinded by force personnel.
“Was Singh referring to Jhamooriyat (Democracy) under which his government has held Kashmiris hostage for the past two months and unleashed state repression of the worst ,form which would even put Nazis to shame,” he said.
