JRL calls shutdown today

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik Tuesday condemned the killing of woman in forces firing on protestors in south Kashmir’s Shopian district and called for Valley-wide shutdown on Wednesday against by the civilian killings by troops.

“Kashmir has been turned into a killing field where the lives of men, women and even children are not safe. The brutal killings of Ruby (Beauty Jan), Misra Bano of Handwara, and Asif Iqbal of Kupwara and killing of Zahid Ahmad in Rajasthan clearly indicate that army and other forces are here only to kill Kashmiris and pro-India politicians are deployed to provide legal shield to them,” the separatist leaders said in a joint statement.

They said Kashmiris cannot and will never remain silent on this genocide and called for complete shutdown on December 20 (Wednesday) to protest against the civilian killings.
The leaders appealed businessmen and transporters to make the shutdown call a success.
Terming the ongoing killings of innocent men and women by Indian forces as agonizing, they said the spree of killings has crossed every limit and has now become intolerable.

“No Kashmiri is ready to tolerate this genocide silently and no stone will be left unturned to stop these brutalities. From 1947 till date, lakhs of people have been killed and maimed by Indian army, police and forces. Though these killings have been triggered by Indian forces but the responsibility lies on the shoulders of those pro-India politicians, assembly members and rulers who provide legal cover and immunity to the killers and thus contribute in this genocide,” said the leaders.
They said according to the law of nature, every tyranny and tyrant has a fixed life. “When tyranny exceeds its limits it is bound to perish, this is why Indian aggression and tyranny is also bound to die soon as it has also crossed every limit”.
