Kashmir witnessing India’s tyranny from last 70 years: Prof Butt

senior Hurriyat leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt has said that Kashmir has been witnessing the tyranny of India for last 70 years.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, addressing people of his native village Botingoo area of Sopore in Baramulla district on Eid-ul-Azha, said that Kashmir had been turned into a police state. There are regular human rights violations and amidst the ongoing pandemic, essential services like internet have been snapped for the last 11 months, he added.

Speaking on the importance of festival of Eid-ul-Azha, he said, this is to honour faith of prophet Ibrahim on Almighty Allah. He made a serious note that the Kashmiris have sacrificed their children for the cause of Kashmir.

Explaining the verses of Surah Al Lahab, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt said, Allah doesn’t like tyrant and the hands of the tyrant are bound to fall. He added when tyrant, Abraha came with the intention of destructing Ka’aba, Allah made Abraha lose under his own tyranny.

He brought the fact to prominence that sub-continent was facing a huge crisis as the India and China were at loggerheads. “The economy is dwindling like anything. We need to safeguard the future of sub-continent,” he maintained.

To have a secured future, he said, the root of all problems viz the Kashmir dispute needs to be resolved and this can happen when India will shun its arrogant attitude and acknowledge the reality that amicable solution of the lingering dispute is guarantee to the secure, progressive and prosperous sub-continent. India and Pakistan must come on table to find a purposeful solution of the Kashmir dispute, he concluded.
