Separatists issue fresh protest calendar

Srinagar, Jul 18:
Separatist leadership Monday issued a fresh protest calendar calling for shutdown on July 19, 20 and 22.
“On 21st July shutdown will continue till 2pm,” reads the joint statement issued by Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik.
“In continuation with the protest program on July 19th and 20, there will be complete shutdown and July 20th will be observed as black day.
“Their will again be a complete shutdown on Friday the 22nd of July and post Friday prayers peaceful protest will be held in all mosques across the state. Meanwhile peaceful protests in mosques after Magrib prayers will continue on all days,” the statement added.
The separatist leaders rejected Government of India’s statement in parliament with regard to the civilian killings, saying that “the current situation is a direct consequence of India’s occupational and military approach to Kashmir problem”.
