Sopore: Tabasum Guroo, the wife of Muhammad Afzal Guru Saturday accused some of the Indian media houses of tarnishing the image of her husband and family.
She was reacting to the media reports that Afzal’s Guroo’s nephew Shoib Ajaz alias Shoib Roxx wants to make it to Bollywood.
“Let me make it clear that we have a separate identity. Media has no right to relate any individual to my slain husband who sacrificed his life or Kashmir Freedom Movement. I would be at fault if my son Ghalib will aspire for such things (joining Bollywood),” Tabasum told news agency CNS and added that her family particularly her husband and son have always stood for Kashmir Cause.
Pertinently, without any video or sound byte some media houses from India have come up with some photographs of Shoib Roxx with some tickers claiming that Roxx, a student of Saint Joseph School Baramulla in North Kashmir wants to make it to the Bollywood. The information probably gathered from his facebook account claims that Shoib Roxx composes and gives lyrics to his numbers and he has already come up with a number ‘a tribute to martyrs’ and has even uploaded his hip-hop rap songs on Youtube.
Tabasum Guroo said that she and her son Ghalib were deeply hurt by connecting the aspirations of Shoib Guroo with her late husband. “I and Ghalib have been living separately and we have nothing to do with anyone. We both stand for what Afzal Guroo stood for and there has no change in our ideology. My hatred for a country that hanged my husband and buried him inside the jail can be gauged from the fact that I never allow my son to visit any of the Indian States,” Tabasum Guroo told CNS.
