Suspected militants lobbed a hand grenade outside Lal Bazaar police station this morning leaving a paramilitary Sashastra Seema Bhal (SSB) personal injured.
Sources and witnesses said that a hand grenade aimed at targeting the police station at Lal Bazar missed the intended target and exploded on road.

An SSB personnel posted on duty outside police station at Lal Bazar was reportedly injured in the incident which occurred a day after two militants and a paramilitary CRPF personal were killed in a brief gunfight along Srinagar-Baramulla highway at Lawaypora while another militant was captured injured.
The injured solider identified as Manoj Kumar Kushwa was shifted to the hospital with minor splinter injuries where his condition is stated to be stable.

Witnesses said panic gripped entire area with shopkeepers pulled shutters down and traffic movement suspended on road for some time. A joint team of CRPF and police later launched cordon and search operation in the area to nab the attackers.
It may in place to mention that five civilians and two CRPF personnel were injured in a similar attack at Pratap Park in the heart of the city a week ago.

A suspect who is alleged to be involved in Pratap Park grenade attack has been arrested by the police and is being questioned. He has been identified as Naveed Lateef a NEET aspirant from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The development according to reports came a day after Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh claimed that police has got some vital leads with regards to Lal Chowk grenade attack and a breakthrough is expected soon.
