Expressing grief and sorrow over the death of a tourist of Chennai in stone pelting incident in Valley, Hurriyatconference (G) chairman Syed Ali GeelaniTuesday said “as a nation we not only feel sorry but ashamed as well”.
“We have been shouldering the coffins of our loved ones on daily basis but never can be silent on this indiscipline and hooliganism, by some unruly youth,” Geelani said.
Sympathizing with the family of Chennai tourist, he said words fall short to console and condole the family for such a tragic loss.
“We as a nation feel not only sorry but ashamed as well,” he said.
Geelanisaid they are the worst sufferers of the “state-terrorismbut that should not encourage us to be cruel and heartless ourselves. Our religion, culture and ethos teach us to respect humanity and we should always follow these golden rules in letter and spirit.”
