Imtiaz A. Khan, PhD
Dr. Imtiaz A. Khan is a Washington, DC based microbiologist, professor, and board member of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum.
In his professional career, Dr. Khan has published nearly 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in addition to numerous reviews and book chapters in the field of microbial immunology. Dr. Khan is Specialty Chief Editor of the academic journal Frontiers of Immunology and serves on multiple editorial boards of high-impact immunology journals.
Dr. Khan’s research has been awarded multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to pursue research in Toxoplasma gondii immunology.
As an activist, Dr. Khan has spoken at numerous national events, embassies, consulates, and
state capitals in support of self-determination for Kashmir. Dr. Khan has been part of several
international delegations abroad to generate awareness for the conflict in Kashmir. He has met with world leaders such as PM Imran Khan and other major political figures in Pakistan and Kashmir to solicit support for the cause. He served on the board of the Kashmir American Council and became its president in 2014.
