Ali Mohammad Bhat, a Kashmiri from Srinagar, was unjustly jailed for 23 years in India under false charges. Bhat was tortured, interrogated, and forced to sign blank documents. Then, after an 8 year trial, he was given the death sentence. He was eventually acquitted and returned home only to find that his parents had died of heartbreak while he languished in jail for a crime he never committed.
