The World Kashmir Awareness Forum (WKAF) has expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris living in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and abroad in connection with the Right to Self-Determination Day.

The?Forum in a statement issued in Washington said, “We call on the United Nations to reinforce the commitment made to the indigenous people of Kashmir to support our brothers and sisters for a free and fair plebiscite in occupied Kashmir and Jammu.”

“For more than 75 years the civilian population including men, women and children of Jammu & Kashmir has been facing systematic persecution at the hands of Indian forces. With increased violence, sexual assaults, unlawful imprisonment being used to censor Kashmiri voices, we urge the United Na-tions to fulfill the commitment made to the people of Kashmir to institute peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.”

The statement stressed the international com-munity to stand against India’s cruel oppression of Kashmiri people and facilitate the freedom of their motherland from Indian occupation.—INP
