Delimitation Draft Proposals BJP Agenda: Mehbooba
SRINAGAR, Feb 7: Former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti Monday said that the delimitation commission proposal has not come as a surprise and it is another onslaught on the democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to mediapersons at the party headquarters, Mehbooba said that PDP was always suspicious and the Delimitation Commission is basically the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) agenda.
“BJP wants to strengthen its constituencies. They want to disempower the majority communities be it in Rajouri, Chenab valley,” she said, according to KNO.
Mehbooba said that merging Anantnag parliamentary seat with Jammu regions has made their voters irrelevant.
“How will a parliamentarian reach Rajouri or Chenab valley when the road remains closed for six months,” she said.
Mehbooba said that BJP is executing Godse agenda to divide Hindu and Muslim community, which is “unacceptable” and it is sheer dictatorship that is prevailing in the country.
“Kashmir is boiling and BJP is trying to change Gandhi’s agenda to Godse agenda in the country by killing its democracy”, she added.
“Nobody is allowed to speak up in Kashmir. Our district president for Ganderbal was arrested just because he spoke against the Delimitation Commission. He was taken to the police station, but was released later,” she said.
While reacting to the arrest of Journalists in Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti said that Government doesn’t want anybody should speak the truth in Valley as Journalists are being summoned every now and then.
She said nobody is allowed to speak up in Jammu and Kashmir. “Our district president for Ganderbal was arrested after he spoke against the Delimitation Commission. He was taken to the police station, and somehow, we managed his release,” she said.
